FireStream 9250

AMD has announced its new FireStream 9250 application accelerator, a stream processor mounted on a pci express card. With a power consumption of less than 150 watts and no additional pcie slot required for a cooling system, the AMD FireStream 9250 delivers an unprecedented rate of performance per watt efficiency with up to 8 GFLOPS per watt. Based on RV770 GPU, the FireStream 9250 can deliver out more than 1 TFlops. AMD plans to deliver the FireStream 9250 and the supporting SDK in Q3 2008 for $999.
