Intel’s Havendale
Intel announces its new hybrid platform codenamed Havendale, a cpu with an integrated gpu and an Ibex peak chipset, all in a single chip solution. The CPU part of the Havendale is a dual core, Nehalem derived 45nm model and it comes with integrated memory controller on the CPU side of the chip. The chip supports only DDR3 and it interconnects with Ibex peak directly through a memory interface (DMI). The Ibex peak Southbridge is interconnected with the GPU through Intel's Flexible Display Interface (FDI) and the chipset should provide display connectivity. According to Intel roadmaps, Havendale is supposed to be released in Q3-Q4 2009.
