Intel Core i7 Extreme 965 pictures

Later this year, Intel will launch three models of processors based on the new LGA 1366 socket: Core i7 Extreme 965, Core i7 940, Core i7 920. The Extreme one, priced at $999 and clocked at 3.20 GHz, should be the fastest desktop processor ever made, it features four cores, 8MB of L3 cache and triple channel DDR3 integrated memory controller. The guys at Mobile101 unboxed the Core i7 Extreme 965 before launch. As you can see the cooler, bigger than the Core 2 Duo stock cooler, is a mixture of copper and aluminum fins.
