Amd Launch Schedule for 2009
Amd is goingo to launch an entry level IGP chipset in January 2009, the AMD 760G, based on the RS780 architecture. The chipset, that is expected to replace Amd 740G, will support DirectX 10 and Shader Model 4.0, but will not support Unified Video Decoder and Hybrid CrossFireX technologies nor HDMI and Display Port connections. The 760G will be accompanied by a new SB710 southbridge. In May or June Amd will launch 790FX and 790GX chipsets that have been upgraded with native AM3 socket support, accompanied by AMD SB750 southbridge. In July or August the company will launch the RX780 based Amd 770, accompanied by SB710. Finally in September, Amd will launch the successor to the 790FX, the RD890, and will introduce the new SB800 southbridge.
